The Ham Radio exhibition is moving into high summer. Event organizers Messe Friedrichshafen and the Deutsche Amateur-Radio-Club e.V. (DARC) have set July 14 to 16 as the dates for next year’s edition of the annual event. Due to the postponement of next year’s world-leading OutDoor Show at Messe Friedrichshafen to late June 2017, Europe’s most important ham radio exhibition will now take place in mid-July. This year’s Ham Radio show will be held as planned on June 24 to 26.
“Event dates are always a tricky subject, but there was no way around rescheduling of our world-leading OutDoor Show,” explains Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann. Among Friedrichshafen’s longest-running exhibitions, Ham Radio has been held at the end of June in recent years. “By putting our heads together with our partners at the DARC, we managed to come up with new dates that work,” explained Project Director Petra Rathgeber. Ham Radio 2017 will now coincide with Seehasenfest, one of the Lake Constance region’s biggest annual festivals, which is sure to be an added bonus for many Ham Radio visitors.” Steffen Schöppe, president of the DARC, also expressed his satisfaction: “Due to already scheduled contest events, a number of other weekends weren’t possibilities from our point of view. So we’re pleased to have found mutually satisfactory dates that are within the timeframe of previous years.”
